Parley 0.1.6: realtime A/V (RTC) path for lower translation wait

Parley 0.1.6 adds a realtime audio/video (RTC) transport path on supported hosted meeting modes so translated speech can wait less outside the model.

What's new in 0.1.6

  • Realtime audio/video (RTC) transport on supported hosted meeting paths, so audio can move in smaller chunks with less non-model queuing.
  • Send and playback cadence tuned so interpretation stays closer to the model’s own response speed when the network cooperates.

Why this matters

Live interpretation fails the conversation when translated speech arrives after the other side has already moved on. Model speed matters, but so does everything around it: capture, uplink, return path, and play buffering.

Version 0.1.6 puts those outer stages on an RTC-oriented path for hosted meetings that support it. The goal is lower waiting outside the model—not a fixed millisecond promise for the full chain.

Latency still depends on the model, network, device, and usage mode. For the engineering detail behind this change, see how ParleyVoice uses RTC to cut waiting in live translation.

Who should update

If you use Parley’s managed meeting translation on a path that already supports the realtime A/V link, update to 0.1.6 or newer. Later 0.1.7 builds on this path with stability fixes.
